All Kids are Different, so the age should not be taken as a rule of thumb.

With a 3 years old, it is recommanded that the parent or the educator will open the book and start naming the words and reading the sentences. With 3-4 y.o., the drawings should be used as stimulus to speak, to narrate a story, to ask simple questions, such as What is this? This is a dog! And what is he doing? etc.

Children naturally develop stories straight from their imagination. This is an important stage in their development that should not be underestimated.

It is important to be an attentive listener when they tell stories. They are important, even if they are a fantasy, a direct product of their imagination.

These times of exchange develop many skills, including dialogue, turn-taking, the art of questioning and the art of answering, and many others.

The parent or educator can follow the outline of the letters with their finger as they name them. The child will do the same, and a first idea/sensation of the letter will register in his or her brain, making it much easier to trace with a pencil, which will come a little later. This book is not primarily a coloring book, even if coloring is given pride of place. It's an educational tool that can be used in many contexts. A pedagogical note for parents and educators is included...
